Usage and limits
What is measured, how often, what happens at 80, 95 and 100 percent, and why checkout is never slowed down.

What is measured
| Meter | How |
|---|---|
| Traffic | Storefront and API requests, counted as they happen and totalled every hour |
| Media bandwidth | Bytes of images and files served to visitors, totalled every hour |
| SMS | Messages sent by the store, for fair-use monitoring only |
| Storage | Measured once a night: files in your store's storage plus the size of its database |
Email and SMS are counted too, but only for fair-use monitoring. Neither is a plan resource and neither is ever a billing input. SMS is billed by your own provider, not by Kambloo.
The period of a meter is your billing period. The cards on the billing screen show the current period live.
Thresholds
| Level | What happens |
|---|---|
| 80% | Email and panel notification |
| 95% | Another notification, plus a plan recommendation based on your usage |
| 100% and above | No cut-off. Notifications and the recommendation continue |
| Sustained overuse (two periods in a row, or more than 150% within a period) | First, images are served in lighter variants; as a last resort, the storefront is slowed slightly |
What is never restricted
Checkout and payment callbacks are never slowed down or blocked at any level of usage. A limit that costs you a sale is not applied.
Fair use
Limits exist to stop a store from being used as a file host or a CDN, not to cap a growing business. Growth from selling more is answered with a plan recommendation, not a restriction.
Disputes
Every usage line on an invoice can be disputed from the billing screen. See Invoices and payments.
