Several domains, changing or removing a domain

Several domains on one store#

A store can have more than one custom domain, within the limit of its hosting plan. Exactly one domain is the primary domain; every other active domain and the test address redirect to it permanently, so search engines see one address for each page.

Changing the primary domain#

Pick the new primary domain in the domain settings. The change is applied in one step: the old primary starts redirecting, the sitemap is rebuilt for the new address and the email templates switch to it.

Replacing a domain#

The safe order is: connect the new domain first, wait until it is active, make it primary, then remove the old one. The wizard suggests this order itself. Following it means there is no moment without a working address.

Removing a domain#

Removing a domain asks you to type its name as confirmation. The domain is released, its certificate is removed and, if it was the primary domain, the test address becomes primary again. Your store keeps running on yourstore.kambloo.com.

Closing a store#

When a store is deleted, all of its domains are released so that nobody is prevented from connecting them elsewhere later. See Cancelling and deleting a store.
