Going live: what happens
What changes when your store moves from the test address to your own domain, what you need first, and how long it takes.
On this page
"Going live" means running the store on a domain you own instead of yourstore.kambloo.com. It is the moment live payments become possible and the moment the free month of hosting begins.
What you need
- A domain you own. Kambloo connects domains; it does not sell them. Buy one from any domain registrar first.
- Access to the domain's DNS settings at the registrar or DNS provider.
- Two-factor authentication on the owner account. The wizard does not continue without it.
- Nothing else: no credit card, no plan choice yet.
What changes
| Test store | Live store | |
|---|---|---|
| Address | yourstore.kambloo.com |
yourstore.com (and www.yourstore.com) |
| Payments | Sandbox only | Live |
| Search engines | Hidden | Open, sitemap submitted |
| Hosting | Free, no time limit | First month free, then a plan |
The old test address keeps working as a permanent redirect to the new domain, so links you shared earlier do not break.
The wizard in six steps
- Enter your domain. See Connect your domain.
- Add the DNS records the wizard shows you at your provider.
- Verification. We check the records until they are visible, usually within minutes, at most within 48 hours. You can close the page; we email you.
- SSL certificate. Issued automatically, usually in 1 to 5 minutes. See SSL certificates.
- Final steps. Pages are pre-cached on the new address, the sitemap is regenerated and submitted, and the test address starts redirecting.
- Your store is live.
If a step fails, the wizard shows what was found and a "try again now" button. DNS troubleshooting lists every message.
Email from your domain
The DNS table of the wizard also lists the records for sending order emails from your own domain. They are optional and can be added later. See Email sending domain.
After going live
The free month starts the moment the domain is active. Read The first free month to know what to expect at the end of it.
