Activation codes

The code#

An activation code looks like KMB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Characters that are easy to confuse (0/O, 1/I/L) are never used. Only a hash of the code is stored on our side; the code itself appears on the purchase screen and in the purchase email.

Redeeming#

Under Market, then Redeem a code, paste the code and confirm. The module installs and switches on. A code can be redeemed once, in one store. Wrong codes are limited to a handful of attempts per ten minutes.

Codes are not tied to the buyer#

A code is not bound to the account that bought it. Whoever redeems it becomes the license holder, and any renewal for that license is billed to the store that redeemed it. This makes two things possible:

• Gifts. Buy a module and send the code to another store.
• Resellers. Buy several codes and hand them to your customers at your own price; the code carries no price information.

Lost codes#

Open My codes on kambloo.com/account: every code you bought is listed with its status. You can copy it or have the email sent again.

Expiry#

A code that is never redeemed expires 12 months after purchase; you receive a reminder before that. A redeemed code does not expire; the license follows its own price model.

Refunds and revoked codes#

If a purchase is refunded before its code is redeemed, the code is revoked immediately and cannot be used. Refunds of redeemed codes are handled as license refunds; see Refunds.
